Renovation of the parish church of St. Martin in Nebelschütz, facade of the church tower and cornice with covering on the nave, funded as part of the LEADER development strategy (LES)

On the church tower of the parish church in Nebelschütz, the cornice below the tower and on the nave shows severe damage to the existing sheet metal covering and its wall connection, resulting in moisture damage to the facade and cornice.

Moisture damage was also clearly visible on the upper cornice below the granite slabs covering the tower roof.

As a result of this moisture damage, considerable damage to the plasterwork on the church tower has occurred, which has been repaired by building specialists. As part of the renovation work, three sides of the tower were given a new coat of paint.

Renovation work on the main cornice of the nave will follow in spring 2026.

This project was funded in accordance with the guidelines of the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development for the implementation of LEADER development strategies from 2023 (funding guideline LEADER – FRL LEADER/2023 of 12 July 2023).

The funding rate is 70% of the eligible costs.

This funding measure has secured, preserved and enhanced an important architectural and artistic monument in the Free State of Saxony, built in 1743 in the Baroque style.

• 2014 Funding for the renovation of the terrace at the "wosadnica" parish hall

Beneficiary: Roman Catholic parish "St. Martin" Nebelschütz

LEADER area: Upper Lusatian Heath and Pond Landscape

Project: Renewal of the terrace at the parish hall "wosadnica" in Nebelschütz. The terrace, which was built in 1988, became increasingly desolate over the years due to the effects of the weather and could unfortunately no longer be used by the public.

After a professional inspection, the terrace had to be demolished by a construction company with technical equipment. In addition, stabilisation with concrete was necessary. The company then filled and compacted the area with mineral mixture. The terrace slabs were laid dry in chippings.

Due to the level surface, the terrace is now barrier-free accessible. The original steps were removed.

The residents of the municipality of Nebelschütz and their guests are pleased that thanks to the funding under the Directive of the Saxon State Ministry for the Environment and Agriculture on the implementation of LEADER development strategies (LEADER funding directive - RL LEADER/2014) of 15 December 2014, the newly constructed terrace can be used again.

The approved funding rate for the EAFRD-financed project is 75% of the eligible costs.
